New production facility strengthens the defense and technology industry while creating numerous high-tech jobs.

Since June 2022, Radionor Communications has increased its production output by more than 5,000% through the end of 2025. With Europe’s most advanced assembly facility for military radios, the company is now further expanding its production capacity and delivery capability.

Trondheim, June 25, 2026 – On Thursday, Radionor Communications officially opened its new manufacturing facility in Selbu, attended by invited guests and company employees. The new facility significantly increases the company’s production capacity while simultaneously reducing lead times. Through this major investment, Radionor Communications has established a strong strategic capability to deliver critical defense technologies that will enhance Norwegian and European defense readiness.

At its own risk and through its own investment, Radionor Communications has responded to the call from the Norwegian Government and Parliament by building a strategic manufacturing capability capable of meeting the critical communication and GNSS-denied navigation needs of Norway, Europe, and allied nations.

“The Municipality of Selbu has played a key role in enabling us, together with our strategic partner and supplier NORBIT, to build advanced defense manufacturing capabilities at an exceptional pace—with the capacity to deliver critical capabilities within very short timeframes.”– Raymond Søderholm, CEO, Radionor Communications

Over the past several years, the company has continued to recruit top talent and is experiencing rapid growth to meet both current and future demand. Its ambition is to further develop products for critical communications and GNSS-denied navigation while strengthening its position as a global leader in the industry.
